Ian Thompson Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Ian Thompson Scholarship was established by his parents, Dr. Thoburn & Marjorie Thompson, to celebrate the life of their son, a young man who loved people & built practical & beautiful projects. Ian was a graduate of the Riverland Community College Carpentry program. Several years later, due to Hodgkin’s Disease & the complications of radiation therapy, it began to limit his physical ability to work construction. He then returned to school & became a teacher & taught elementary students for six years before he died at the age of 41.
