Judith A. McDermott Endowed Scholarship
Judy grew up in Austin and graduated in 1965 from Pacelii high school. She went to college at St. Teresa’s in Winona. Judy was a freelance editor for the Austin Daily Herald for 21 years. She then worked at Pearson’s in Owatonna as a graphic designer until her retirement in 2014. Judy had many gifts and talents; she was a wonderful artist and made and designed jewelry. Judy was known for her beautiful garden and her knowledge on the subject of gardening. She was always generous in sharing her flowers, plants and herbs with others. Her backyard was a beautiful oasis. Judy loved to cook and loved trying different recipes. She was the family historian for both sides of her family. She loved to travel, especially to Rome, Italy where her brother Michael and his family lived. Judy had a warm way about her and made everyone feel special.
