Pedersen, LaValley, Flannery Family Scholarship

In memory of our parents: Carlos C. and Elvina B. Pedersen; Leonard M. and Margret Dunbar Flannery; brother and sister in-law, Donald L. and Lois LaValley; and brother/brother in-law, James D. Flannery and sister/sister in-law, Patricia A. Brooks Flannery.

Kenneth D. and Nancy L. Flannery Pedersen have funded an endowment scholarship in recognition of the impact the Austin Public Schools and Riverland Community College has had on our families. Access to a quality education for over a dozen family members continues to grow as their children/grandchildren take advantage of the opportunities available at Riverland.

The knowledge acquired, led Jim Flannery (President of Austin Junior College) and Ken Pedersen (High School Principalships and Asst. Supt., Stillwater, MN) into the field of education and Don LaValley into accounting and becoming the Mower County Auditor. The support of parents, wives, teachers, administrators and community was very significant and appreciated. We are thankful we can in a small way contribute to the opportunity for others to have the chance that we had.
